About the project

Leydi.az is an Azerbaijani-language women’s magazine. It publishes across nine main strands: beauty, fashion, health, relationships, décor, cooking, parenting, horoscopes and lifestyle.

The site today holds 47 sections and more than 1,400 articles, alongside 540 photo sets.

Our own editorial system

The site runs on our own content management system, ElitNewsCMS. We wrote it rather than adopting an off-the-shelf platform, because the magazine’s daily work needed a few specific things:

• An editor publishes on their own. Upload the image, pick the section, write the copy, publish — with no technical step in between.
• A section structure that matches the magazine. Nine main strands, each with its own subsections: under Beauty sit make-up, skincare, haircare, nails, hairstyles and cosmetic surgery.
• A view count on every article — which is what builds the “most read” list, and what tells the editors which subjects are landing.

Speed and search visibility

Cloudflare sits in front of the site, so pages and images reach the reader from the nearest edge server. That makes pages open faster and takes load off the origin.

URLs are built from the article’s own headline — the section name, then the title. Addresses like that read clearly for a person and parse clearly for a search engine. Every article carries its own title, description and share image, so it looks right when it is posted to social media.

A long-running site

Leydi.az has run without interruption since 2015. Over those years the site has stayed under our technical care — system updates, the growing archive and the server-side work are all ours.
